Adriaan Korver graduated at the State University of Utrecht (NL), Medical Faculty in 1974. After having worked in the curative field for 3 years, he was employed as medical officer at the national health department at the Headquarters of the Netherlands Red Cross. In addition to his work in the field of medical care and social welfare in The Netherlands, he became involved in international health activities. After 9 years, he moved to the International department in order to become the senior medical officer. In this capacity, he became involved in many international (disaster/war and development related) health projects. From 1989, he started to work in the Central and Eastern European region.
In 1998, he stopped working for the Red Cross and joined the World Health Organization as its country representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina for 2 years. In 2001, he was invited by the Dutch Ministry of Health to become the advisor to the Lithuanian health authorities on public health. He lived and worked in Lithuania for about 18 months before moving to similar positions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In 2004, Adriaan Korver founded his company “Yanos International Public Health”. In addition to his activities in the field of physical health, he increasingly becomes involved in activities related to social well-being.
