LITHUANIAN DAY IN EINDHOVEN
\'\'The 'Lithuanian day in Eindhoven' was hosted on 20 June 2012, 6.30 PM at the Frits Philips music centre (Jan van Lieshoutstraat 3, 5600 AX Eindhoven). The event was dedicated to commemorate the day of the Lithuanian State. The programme contents to visual material about Lithuania, as a country for tourism, business, science and cultural attractions. Lithuanian organizations founded in the Netherlands have not been invited to participate. The guests of the event, and Lithuanians in Netherland had rare possibility to taste the national delicates and snacks. The musical accent of the evening - a recital by the famous Lithuanian pianist Petras Geniušas. He performed pieces of the F. List, R. Skriabin, M. de Falla. "TRYS KETURIOSE" TOURING IN EUROPE: NL
\'\'Lithuanian polyphonic sutartinès songs have a unique feel: unruly and unpolished, they impress with their solemn, beseeching tone. These traditional 16th century songs are performed as part of a sedate choreography. Sutartinės, Lithuanian multipart songs were included in 2008 in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage Values. \'\'Foundation “smARTroots” (in Rotterdam, NL) is an internationally active Non governmental organisation (NGO) established in Rotterdam in 2010. Our organisation’s motto is "PS" (Past strengths –– Praeities stiprybė –– Verleden versterkt). We focus on cultural identity tourism programs for foreign art groups/ensembles, education, art management services for Baltic sea region performers and artists in the Netherlands, with a unique focus on young talents with eyesight or hearing disabilities from Lithuania and Netherlands.
