Crafts. Traditions", and the closing of the meeting in the Netherlands. One of the acomplished goals of the meeting in the first week of April - to get better acquainted with old Dutch traditions, their roots and to explore the close links with the lithuanian symbols that are alike, such as tulips, wooden shoes/clogs, mills, and wooden architectural ornaments. Special attention was given to the tulips, which were brought to the Netherlands in the XVI century from the Ottoman Empire. Until this day the tulip remained one of the most favourite flowers of the Netherlands, and is an unofficial symbol of the country. Here you can find more information about this project. The project coordinator is the art centre of Vilijampolė. Seen as there are only limited places available, we kindly request to register by e-mail: amb.nl@urm.lt
