HAPPY NEW PIG'S YEAR!

We will remain a modest yet nice and effectively creative team only if we are together. NGO 'Culture Artfact' wishes you love, health, good earnings from creative activities (not from potboiler), nearness, the ability to listen to each other, and peace in your family and your relations with the close ones.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL VOLUNTEERS!

December 5th is celebrated by the United Nations and all people of good will around the world as the International Day of Volunteers. I sincerely congratulate every single angel of the earth, who help "Culture Artfact", and with benevolence and love participate in and complemented to implementation of our artistic-social projects. Your forces, the forces of public work volunteers, supporting and approving the noble choice, make grand miracles and have persistent value. Public and volunteer work have well-rooted and old traditions in the entire world. People, who help fellow citizens benevolently and free of charge, in countries with strong cultural traditions are understood and accepted as personalities that unite the society, make its members closer, raising social and general culture of the country to a higher ground. I’m glad that volunteer activities are spreading in Lithuania. Only dedication of a person to a noble goal and idea will help to achieve better days. We will not get angry if the kind results of volunteer work are used by even evil-minded or “money-machines” – let they have a warm in the light of kindness, and the most important thing for us is that they do not hinder our creative process and let us work for the sake of everybody.

As elections are approaching, we will strive for the following: 1) increase the funds in the budget allotted to activities of NGOs; 2) revision of the law concerning the 2% charity that prefers development of non-commercial activities by private initiative NGOs rather than by budget-sponsored ones; 3) subsidies to new residences of art, where artists could work and create without feeling constant humiliation and social poverty, as well as lack of respect to intellectual activities, inter-relations, ethics of business and culture management. If this can be achieved with the help of politicians, it could reduce emigration, “the outage of minds” and result in development of the leverage between pop culture on TV and timeless classics... Today we are alive and able to work thanks to volunteers and wise people.

Don’t be angry with me for my wish to introduce you to the public: Angels of the earth that love and respect us, and appreciate our work. Thank you for being here for us!

NEWS FOR ART MANAGERS FROM THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA
\'Culture We are happy to announce some good news from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, which we were awaiting for two years:"... Please note that the Ministry has not developed any specific strategy for culture and art management, and a new culture strategy under the plan of implementation of the governmental program is expected to be developed in 2008. In fact, regulations of the state scholarships to people of art and culture do not provide for the category of the culture manager, and no commission of experts in this field exists..." Signed by the Secretary of the Ministry J. Širvinskas.
