MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

\'\' Dear all, thank you for another meaningful, nice and creative year. Thank you for your patience and tolerance in the development and implementation of projects, for belief that better days for the people of culture and creators are yet to come... I would like to thank everybody for being together, for your support, acknowledgements and sincerity. I would also like to thank evil-minded people for the obstacles they create, which can be overcome anyway. Let our homes be filled with cosy warmth, the smell of cinnamon, the light of a fireplace, and let the close ones envelop us with their love, peace and serenity. I wish you merry and cosy Christmas in your heart, and an extraordinary celebration of the New Year! Let the New Year be fuller and more serene, creatively active and productive for artists and creators. Let’s hope that representatives of Lithuanian business will become our equal partners and companions in the implementation of noble and selfless ideas. I wish to hear the saying ‘An artist is the sponsor for business’ less often from the mouth of officials. Artists are an inherent part of Lithuania’s development. Let’s help each other to remain HUMAN. LET FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

A group of talented people and active citizens of Lithuania, young artists and performers.

SPONSORS AND CONSULTANTS ARE NEEDED FOR ACQUISITION OF A CAR

\'\' With great regret we announce that we had to say ‘farewell’ to the senior Volkswagen, also known among friends as ‘Santa Jetta’. It served well for more than 20 years, and now we URGENTLY need another car. We would be grateful to those, who could offer any of the models we are interested in (made in 1998 or later): Ford Galaxy/ Volkswagen Sharan. Preferred characteristics: 1.9 / diesel, petrol-gas/ automatic or mechanic transmission/. Model: compact. Colour: silver metallic. Payment terms: flexible leasing. This is not subject to VAT refund. Sponsors will be offered to place their advertisements during the entire advertising campaign of the organisation. We cannot afford acquiring the car in the way of ordinary leasing, as due to the present political situation and thefts of ideas we cannot have regular income that secure ourselves both, financial and social freedom. We are grateful in advance for any help or assistance, advice and mutually beneficial offers.

VILNIUS 2009. ART IN UNCONVENTIONAL SPACES – A USUAL EVENT IN THE WORK OF NGO "CULTURE ARTFACT"
\'\' On the 21st - 23rd September 2007, a project that will change the face of Vilnius city will be taking place. This will be a creative intervention into unconventional spaces of the city – live! After all, art may exist everywhere, especially in the places where you don’t expect to find it. On the 21st of September 2007, the NGO Culture Artfact will celebrate its second birthday (yet its concert & event organization experience dates back to 1998); thus, we may rejoice at having changed and being able to present a list of projects implemented in unconventional spaces. Therefore, we have boldly presented a new space developed for art expositions and photo galleries in spring already for the competition ‘Art in Unconventional Spaces’ organised within the framework Vilnius – European Capital of Culture. This time it was the gym ‘Active Gym’ (Antakalnio Str. 37, Vilnius). Photo galery. \'\'
Let’s go in for sports, move a little, and if the commission decides to grant some funds to other kinds of entertainment that would gather together all artists and politicians residing in the Šilo street, we will then celebrate the Day of Joy of Culture Artfact in the nice yard of the houses located at Šilo Str. 1 and 3, under three beautiful firs... Follow the information. And now we have the pleasure of presenting an exhibition of works of young artists developed within the framework of the project ‘Moc'Art 2006’.

CREATIVE WORK OF THE BLIND AND PEOPLE WITH EYESIGHT DISABILITY IN THE SUMMER ART ACADEMY ‘ART BALTICA 2007’

\'\' Though they see nothing but darkness, the blind and people with eyesight disability from Vilnius found living in the camp enriching, innovative and beautiful: Ms. Loreta Taluntytė, a participant of the Summer Art Academy ‘Art Baltica 2007’, who can not see but anyway loves art and music, was not only singing, half-voice crooning her favourite melodies but has also created some with the help of her handy. Loreta was a volunteer and, together with organizers, visited women penitentiary in Panevėžys. Having presented her works of tactile graphics here, she kindly gave a lesson to young residents of the penitentiary. Girls have drawn and gave Loreta some pictures full of love and hope. It was a truly moving moment... The blind Mr. Mindaugas Suchovėjus and Mr. Robertas Antropikas, who has weak eyesight, were spending there time painting with the fine art teacher Mrs. Diana Raudonienė, enjoying holiday spirits and mosquito ping. Our camp was also attended by a honourable guest – Mr. Alfonsas Barauskas, a public figure of Panevėžys city and a cherisher of the bicycle sport, who got very interested in the tactile graphic works developed by the blind and told many stories about the most recent bicycle rides.

THE ENDING OF EDUCATIONAL-CONCERT PROGRAM OF THE SUMMER ART ACADEMY ‘ART BALTICA 2007’
\'\' Today, on August 1st, the first ten-day educational program of playing in the Youth Symphony Orchestra and professional performer’s mastery program under the Summer Art Academy "Art Baltica 2007" has come to its end. We said goodbye having befriended each other and spiritually enriched, each of us having invested some of their personal savings... We are glad that we will have something to show to our actual sponsors. It’s a pity that we haven’t yet got the answer concerning the right to use the domain www.KurkLietuvoje.lt  (an enquiry and an application to the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Justice, the Communications Regulatory Authority and the Office of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania was sent at the beginning of June 2007 already. Therefore, I would call the delay of performing a process as simple as writing a recommendation letter of a competent authority ‘the bureaucratic ping-pong’). I hope that you will soon find exhaustive information about the "Art Baltica" project on the new website; we will reprogram Participant Applications and develop video and audio record base. The project was excellent, therefore we didn’t say to each other ‘Goodbye!’, we said ‘See you next year!’. For more information about the beneficial and necessary for Lithuania project please read in the ‘Gyvenimas’ (Life) part of the daily ‘Respublika’ (the issues of 01.08.2007), in Panevėžys regional press and on different websites. Press release of July, 17 2007. Photo gallery - I

\'\' As the project has come to its end, we dare to state that, unfortunately, it is almost impossible to do the creative work in Lithuania... Writing projects for public invitations to tender costs too many physical efforts and energy; every day we encounter with Lithuanian national peculiarities, often feel lack of ethics, psychological pressure and terrorism. We miss positiveness in our everyday life, trust of sponsors in us, effective European-like cooperation, faster pace of communication with Lithuanian public authorities, and see too much pride, ambitions, and too little emotional stability. The seed of goodness has been sowed, and it now only needs favourable soil and political conditions. Will we do the creative work in Lithuania and create Lithuania in the motherland or in the emigration?

PRESENTATION OF THE ALBUM WOMEN BY THE PHOTO ARTIST VAIDOTAS GRIGAS

\'\' On the February 28, 2007 in the Vilnius Town Hall, presentation of the photo album Women by Vaidotas Grigas (*1955), a photographer of the magazine Stilius of the daily Lietuvos Rytas. The book contains only a small part of female portraits (representational, intimate, humoristic) taken by the photographer, yet those chosen for the book are enough to reveal the variety and beauty of the women’s universe created by the photographer. The woman in the book is a mature personality, a creator of herself, her world and, often, some wider spaces. The album Women by Vaidotas Grigas witnesses not just the mastery of the artist, but also the gift of empathy, his deep insight, and creativity. On behalf of women-models, I’d like to express sincere gratitude to: the photo artist Vaidotas Grigas, compiler Algimantas Aleksandavičius, author of the essay The Universe of Women r.e.
