PRESS RELEASE

Vilnius, 13th November 2007

Help of titled Dutch and Lithuanian artists to Kuršėnai children foster home

\'\' As the first snow has started falling and Christmas are getting closer and closer, fifteen members of the Royal Breda Men Choir have come to Lithuania with noble strivings earlier this week. Their goal is to help create cosy and nice environment for pupils of Kuršėnai foster home (Šiauliai district) and improve their living and studying conditions by renovating premises on the third floor. To prevent intense daily work from upstaging good spirits and let the visit of Dutchmen bring more joy to children, an unconventional evening of artistic self-expression will take place on the 14th November 2007, at 18.30, in Kuršėnai children foster home (Pramonės Str. 2, Kuršėnai, Šiauliai district). The program will include a performance of the chamber group of the Royal Breda Male Choir (Chairman of the Board Mr. Frans Luijben) and folk music ensembles of Kuršėnai Art School. The event will be attended by honourable people and enlightened persons of the Šiauliai region, who will be telling tales of their childhood for pupils before they go to sleep, as well as reading poetry on the approaching Christmas and winter written by the famous poet and bard Vilhelmina Imbrienė.

After children fall asleep, foreign guests and participants will be invited to the presentation of films by the director and cameraman Šarūnas Bartas, who was born in Šiauliai and is one of the most famous representatives of cinematographers of the new generation. In 2005, the director was acknowledged internationally and participated in the international film festival in Cannes (France).

Everyone, who is willing to wait for Christmas with open heart and join the international creative team of the continuous cultural tourism project ‘The Seasons: Fall-Winter 2007’ by telling their stories, giving a musical present and supporting the project, is welcome to contact organisers of the project. Let cosy creative meetings transform into small miracles and memorable presents for children and the elderly.
