JOANA DAUNYTĖ (*1987) Harp

Laureate of many international contests. Since 1996, she is a student of the National School of Arts of M. K. Čiurlionis. She was taught to play harp by the pedagogue Daiva Slyžienė. Since 2000, her guiding star is professor, harpist Florence Sitruk residing in Germany, who has been visiting Lithuania quite often these days and has been taking care of popularising the art of harp. Joana is active participant of open lessons organized in Lithuania and skill courses abroad; she has been gaining stage experience and wisdom from the best pedagogues of the world. In 2003, she took part at the skill courses of U.S. pedagogue Susann Mc Donald (Switzerland).

Joana actively prepares for and takes part in international contests, which always bring her success:
in 2004, at the International European Music Contest "Musique en Picardie 2004" (France) she was awarded the II premium, at the International Contest of Young Talents of Martine Geliot (France) she was awarded the finalist’s diploma and a special prize.

In 2005, participants and guests of the World Harp Congress in Dublin (Ireland) admired artistic playing of Joana. Central Committee of the Youth Ambassador Program elected Joana Daunytė to be the representative of Lithuania. Thanks to her, the name of our country was in the TOP 6.

In 2006, at the 3rd International Harp Contest Joana was awarded the special public premium in Lille (France).
In 2006, took part in master glasses given by Skyla Kanga (Great Britain) and Milda Agazarian (Russia) in Switzerland. In 2006, Joana was awarded the special public premium at the 3rd International Harp Contest in Lille (France).

In 2007, student of the Talent Class of academy of music in Geneva.
August 2007, Mecklenburg-Pomerania classical music festival (Germany).

Multiple performance in concerts organised in Germany with participation Prof. Florence Sitruk (from the academy of Geneva).
On the initiative of Prof. Marie-Claire Jamet from the Paris Conservatoire, Joana was granted the scholarship of the Villecroze music academy for her traineeship (Villecroze, France).

December 2007, special prize and Grand Prix at the festival “Magic Sounds of the Harp” (Moscow).

2007 was also successful for Joana because she has won the contest on representation of Lithuania at the X International Congress of Harp-Players (“Focus on Youth” program), which will take place in 2008 in Amsterdam (the Netherlands).

Since 2007 - Joana Danytė is a student of Conservatoire de musique de Geneve in Switzerland (calss of prof. Florence Sitruk)

Joana has given multiple concerts at the National Philharmonic (Vilnius), Kaunas Philharmonic, Klaipėda Concert Hall. She has performed with Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and Lithuanian State Orchestra.
