Telebridge - International development - musical premier

March 21, 2009
1 pm - 5 pm in LITHUANIAN time
or 2 pm - 6 pm in KENYAN time

Musicians and acrobats of "Nafsi Africa Acrobats" (Art Director Kennedy Ochieng Owino) from Kenya, Eastern Africa, visited Lithuania for the first time and earned the audience’s liking in spring 2008. They are ambassadors of their country’s culture and members of the Pyramid of Peace. Before departing from Lithuania, on the initiative of Ms. Odeta Abromavičiūtė, the Director of the NGO Kultūros Artelė/ Culture ArtFact, the Kenyans visited Panevėžys Principal School for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (hereinafter – PKNPM) and made a performance that rocked the school. The acrobats promised to acquaint pupils of PKNPM with pupils of a Kenyan school for the deaf. A virtual and live “Bridge over the cultures” will take place at the conference hall of the RAMADA VILNIUS hotel. After the videoconference, music lovers and guests of the city will be invited to the "Lėlė" theatre in Vilnius, where the premiere of the percussion music “Africa” by Tomas Dobrovolskis will take place. Enjoy warm impressions while waiting for the sun to shine in Lithuania!

Up to this day, I have been travelling around Africa in my thoughts only. My imagined Africa”, says Tomas Dobrovolskis, Lithuanian musician, percussionist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Project “Africa”: new instruments, new sounds, new composition arrangements on the topics of the ever sunny Africa, surprises and improvisations.
