Pedagogues at Klaipėda Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts
Graphic artist Emilija Pumputienė and painter Valdas Pumputis, art teachers at the Arts Department of Klaipėda Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts, joined the team of lecturers (instructors) at the 4th International Summer Art Academy "Art Baltica 2010". They are professional artists involved in both pedagogical and creative work.
When we arrived to our creative expression camp, we were pleased to find talented, socially sensitive participants who gathered for creative work. However, there was another pleasant surprise: oeuvre of Emilija and Valdas Pumputis dating back to the Soviet times, created 30 years ago on the motives of Lithuanian folk tale "Eglė Žalčių karalienė" (Eglė, the Queen of Grass-Snakes). The works decorate the canteen premises of the camp-site "Pasaka". Mrs. Dalia Paulauskienė, the Camp Director, better known as “the Director of Tales” (the name of the camp means “Tale”), was happy to get acquainted with the creators.
